Feeling bad enough about my last week's absence in the blog sphere I managed to use a little bit of my free time at the media agency when I'm doing my internship. Writing a post about sunglasses came across my mind several times but somehow (and again) I didn't make it in terms of time. Life is crazy, days are flying, and lack of time and the feeling of existing everywhere-pace is just incredibly horrifying. However, let's get back to the point...sunglasses...I realised that I have to crack on with the post as the summer is a half way through and the subject may be quite expired, especially here in England (hopefully NOT!).

Take a look at my selection this time. Be aware that some of them are quite pricey (but f*** good) and I do post them for the sake of beauty...and certainly SWAG. Killer Mike - Untitled

You have probably heard of Killer Mike's first time on Outkast's "Snappin & Trappin'" ("Stankonia" album released in 2000). That was his official debut, then his famous collabo with Big Boi and Andre 3k "The Whole World" which won Grammy Award in 2003. His solo debut album "Monster", came out in 2003 following his five solo albums including 2012's "R.A.P. Music" ("Rebellious African People Music").

If you didn't have opportunity to listen his sixth solo, you should do it as fast as possible bob ya head to it!!! I'm telling you, your musically demanding ass won't be disappointed! First of all, we have've got Mike who became a real Killer behind the mic, second of all, dope beats made by El-P, who produced the whole "Rap Music". Mike is in a great rhyming condition and he knows what he's saying. The best thing I can describe here is the quote from hiphopdx review:

"...R.A.P contains some of the most thoghtful, well-executed commentary (both in style and substance) found in music since days Rage Against The Machine. Throughout his career, Mike has steadily carved out an NWA-eque balance between lyrics that stick to your ribs and lyrics that smack you in the face. Brand scanner- ONLY NY

 

 

From the real snapbacks' and any sort of headwear lover, ONLY deserves some genuine attention. In terms of the brand, it's not ONLY because of the f*** finely made headwear but the colour combinations, fabric mixtures, freshness and youth associations. I adore them so badly and honestly I think it's hard to pick the best piece of any of their collection as most of them are simply amazing. However in this post, I don't want to focus ONLY on hats, but they're always strongly attached to my personal style. As I don't know much about the brand, I decided to dig a little bit into it in order to find some interesting stuff.

Who got Soul ???

Since "Stakes Is High" which was my first De La track I had ever heard, then "All Good" with Chaka Khan & "Oooh" with Redman's guest appearance (from their fifth solo "Art, Official, Intelligence: Mosaic Thump")  I had always a lot of respect for them mainly for their top quality music which they create. I mean not only quality of music production but also, of course, their mature lyrics . The members of the group: Kelvin Mercer (Plug One, Posdnuos, Mercenary, Plug Whonder Why), David Jude Jolicouer (Plug Two, Trugoy the Dove, Dave) and Vincent Mason (Plug Three, P.A. Pasemaster Mase, Maseo Baby Huey). How often you have enough of raps like these from Dave's verse "Stakes Is High"???

I just want to say that if you sometimes feel like that, I'm not judging which rap is better (I don't give a f#ck whether it's an old school, new school or is it a boom bap or trap). De La has been always a good alternative to listen something different. They're still spittin' about situations observed around them but with their characteristic De La flair.

But let's get back to the newest (???) track "The Work (2and4 remix)" from the album "De La Soul's Plug 1 & Plug 2 present...First Serve".  Basically that's not De La Soul album as for its music is French Dj a duo  Chokolate & Khalid. On the microphone we hear Posdnous and Dave. In the album, the duo adopts the persona of "First Serve"- a hip-hop band from the late 90's. Plug Whonder Why takes persona of "Jacob 'Pop Life' Barrow" and Trugoy takes persona of "Deen Witter". The ficional band ''First Serve'' is making it in the music industry, then successed, breakup to reformate eventually. Pos and Dave are always imterviewed in character as Barrow and Witter, often quoting De La Soul as an influence and describing De La Soul as "those guys". Below,  beside The Work (2nd4 remix) you can also check it out in the single "Must B The Music".
